Who is Kagame in Ugandan History, One of the Most Celebrated NRA Original Fighters

Although there has been a Long-Term Cordial Relations between President Museveni and his count part of Rwanda Paul Kagame, it should be noted that Kagame is one of the most NRA Protracted cerebrated bush war heroes.

Rwanda s president Paul Kagame yesterday stepped on the Ugandas soil ahead of UPDF commander land forces and first son Muhoozi Kainerugabas birthday state dinner, a first time since March 2018.

The two countries recently saw their long-term cordial relations take a turn for the worse in 2019, when Rwanda closed its border at Gatuna/Katuna accusing Uganda of harbouring persons who posed security threats to Rwanda.

However, Rwanda’s Paul Kagame is one of the 27 NRA Original fighters among the nine who are still alive, force which was headed and brought President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni into power.

Others include Gen. Yoweri Museveni, Gen. Elly Tumwine, Brig. Julius Kihande, Brig. Fred Mwesigye, Brig. Andrew Lutaaya, Jack Mucunguzi, Col. George Mwesigwa, and Col. Charles Tusiime Rutarago.
While Museveni and Kagame remain Presidents of Uganda and Rwanda respectively, only Elly Tumwine has been so influential in the UPDF the rest are retired, lower ranks and less influential.

Paul Kagame, a Tanzanian-trained spy, was a refugee in Uganda at the time he joined Musevenis Front for National Salvation (FRONASA). His intelligence credentials got him a pass into the UNLA army at a time when they were excluding foreigners that had helped them oust Amin.

However, as Museveni went to the Bush, Kagame was right there. He attended the meeting at Rukikaires home and was armed with a pistol when the rebels first attacked Kabamba, him and a few others raided the communication office.
His intelligence skills came in handy in the bush and sources say he gathered intelligence for Museveni and helped neutralise cliques that threatened the struggle.

Kagame was central to Musevenis project to find out who had stolen the RPG. Kagame also dealt with Mucunguzi to squeeze out of him information about the plot against Museveni.

Out of the bush, Kagame still worked as an intelligence chief and later left the country for studies and later led the Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) that liberated Rwanda and sworn in in April 2000 as the president to date still serves as president.

Paul Kagame remains one of the few greatest and most celebrated NRA Protracted Bush war hero who liberated and transformed the Republic Rwanda into an admirable Nation since he joined power in 2000.
