Uganda Musicians Association Extends Elections Dates to Sort Out Complaints


Uganda Musicians Association ( UMA ) electoral committee has extended UMA 2022 elections dates from 23rd of May 2022 to 6th June 2022 to sort out complaints from association members .

This was after King Saha’s filling formal compliant to UMA challenging the whole process that was undertaken and urged the association to halt the elections.

Through association social media , the Chairman UMA Electoral Committee ,Mr Geoffrey Ekongot has revealed that they have called off UMA elections which were scheduled to close on Monday ,23rd May 2022 for more fourteen days to give ample time to members to understand how the voting is going to be conducted .

Association Chairman policy Board , Mesach Semakula added that voter eduction is a strong pillar of democracy and as should be given enough time so that they when members reach polling day when they have full knowledge of how the voting process is going to be conducted .

The voter eduction campaign is ongoing in the media and members networks and various activities shall be conducted to engage members towards election day.
