Uganda Hippos AFCON Mini Tournament Team Named

Uganda U20 team will travel to Tanzania on Monday 1st February for the AFCON U20 Mini Tournament.

The Team will depart Entebbe International Airport at 8:00am aboard Uganda Airlines.

18 players who perviously featured in the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers have retained their places on the Team while Sam Senyonjo (KCCA FC), Derrick Kakooza (Police FC), Davis Sekajja (Soltilo Bright Stars FC), Andrew Kawooya, (KCCA FC), Goalkeeper Delton Oyo (Busoga United FC) Simon Baligeya (Kibuli SS) and Ivan Eyamu (Mbarara City) are the new faces that missed the qualifiers but have managed to break through again.

The Team will play against Tanzania and Namibia in the Mini Tournament from 2nd-9th February before flying to Mauritania for the AFCON U20 Finals.

The Team that Started against KCCA FC in a practice match early this week.

Uganda Hippos is in Group A and will play against Mozambique in the first match on 15th February 2021. The second match will be on 17th February against Cameroon before going head-to-head with the hosts Mauritania in the last group match on 20th February 2021.
