This website has landed on news that the Uganda Communication Commission has at long last banned Next Media’s NBS Uncut show from the Ugandan airwaves.
Ever since singer Omulangira Suna came out to complain about NBS Uncut presenters particularly Lord Kayz, the shows fate has been hanging on a mere thread.
Kayz was remanded to Kitalya Prison for spreading false news about the singer and remained behind bars for about five days and was released, a changed man.
Despite this, UCC went ahead to summon all gossip and entertainment show presenters of various TV stations over use of profane language and circulation of unverified claims.
The commission took the notch higher when it teamed up with NBS TV to train its presenters on the accepted journalism code of conduct and language.
Now reports have it that NBS TV management has been forced to discontinue it’s popular entertainment show, NBS Uncut after UCC decided to ban it once and for all.
The same reports claim that in a letter addressed to NBS TV management, any further airing of the programme would lead to station’s licence termination.
It should be remembered that UCC had earlier directed all gossip shows to air when children are asleep between 10pm to 5am.
However, the reports could not be verified beyond the information provided by the source
