Singer Edrisa Musuuza alias Eddy Kenzo now nursing wounds after surviving flying bottles, teargas and live bullets during his performance at Makerere University’s 87th Freshers Ball over yesterday.
This was after a scuffle broke out between Police and Students inturn police was forced to start shooting teargas ,live bullets to calm the wild students.
Makerere university students fronted the hall superiority complex at the freshers ball, with each hall desiring to have its members and flag raised high at the stage on which Lumumba residents were trying to pull off the night’s show, a thing that didn’t settle well with other halls of residences thus the retaliation.
Like the old adage says, the end must justify the means, so did pelting bottles at the stage performers seem to satisfy the desires of those that did so.
The end result of this was a tug of war to see which hall takes it home; but police was on standby too to ensure it goes to neither.
Police opened fire, shooting teargas and bullets in order to calm the crowd of students that had turned into a mob -sending big talent’s super star Eddy Kenzo into hiding.
The injured students were rushed to university hospital and their current number wasn’t known yet by the time of publication. However, the Bee has exclusive knowledge about the critical damage caused to some.
