Sheebah Karungi Responds to Minister Sarah Opendi’s view of Banning Musicians from performing in Schools

Singer Sheebah Karungi has responded to Minister Sarah Opendi’s view of banning musicians from performing in schools .

State Minister of Mineral Development of Uganda, Hon. Sarah Achieng Opendi, over yesterday made submission about the growing habit of having unguided music concerts in Schools

In her submission, Hon. Sarah Opendi revealed that musicians often perform in skimpy dresses and dance suggestively when they visit these schools.

She noted that some wear really skimpily and it is morally wrong for the students and affects their mental wellbeing.

In her recent interview, Sheebah hit back at Minister’s submission saying that musicians are not in any way responsible for misleading and promoting the growth of immorality among young kids, claiming that the job of raising and guiding kids falls back to their parents .

That parents should guide their children on what to do and not copy from Musicians .
She said that it is not her responsibility to ask students not dress like her.

She further advised parents to befriend their kids and be able to guide them towards a better future.
” I tell parents, I am not going to raise your children. They are your responsibility, so stop blaming me for their immorality,” Sheebah said.

“I left our home when I was 14 years old and I raised myself. I am in my 30s, but there are weird things students do in schools that I have never even done in my life. So parents should sit down and teach their children what is bad and what is good,“ she added.
