Ugandan Cranes and SC Villa Midfielder David “Colgate” Owori has officially joined Spanish lower club Velez Clube de Futbol in one year deal .
Owori has been without a club since the end of the last season after featuring for Star times primer league club SC Villa for two seasons.
Upon the completion of his move, Owori will play for Velez Clube de Futball until the end of the 2021/22 season unless otherwise.
The versatile midfielder came to the scene in the 2014/15 season when he joined Vipers from regional league side Lukuli FC.
He went on to feature for Proline on loan before he switched to Villa where he played an instrumental role until his contract came to an end last year.
Owori will be the second Ugandan player in the Spanish fourth tier league after former Hippos defender Victor Matovu.
Matovu features for CD Villacanas in the Group 18, Group B pool of the fourth tier.
Owori’s new side Velez Clube de Futbol won the Group 9, Group B of the fourth tier with 34 points in 17 games and will compete in the promotion playoffs.
The Spanish fourth tier, also known as Tercera Division, is below the La Liga (top tier), Segunda Division (second tier) and Segunda B (third tier).
