Born Phupho Mkhatshwa, P.I.C was born in Manzini, Swaziland. He grew up in Tabankulu with his extended relative as his mother pursued her studies in Botswana. He later relocated to Mbabane with the mother on her return to Swaziland.
P.I.C released his debut single “It’s OK ” under Black Market Records. His single was produced by Daddy Andre. He consequently also featured on ‘More And More’ by Daddy Andre featuring Ceaserous.
This year, P.I.C signed his first record label deal with Black Market Records, which has its headquarters in Sacramento, USA. The label also has several other artistes including Daddy Andre, Rabadaba, Boondocks, Kvan, Chulo Mac, Ava Peace, among others.
He traces his passion for music back to his school days. He represented his school in Spoken Word and debates and he would usually perform freestyles for his schoolmates.
The rapper is a Law student at the University of South Africa. He says that he picks his inspiration from everybody. His diverse nature of music delivery does not have dedicated specific sources of inspiration.
He is an asset for the future and Africa could be having something good going on in the Hiphop world in a few years to come. Watch him rap on ‘More And More’ below:
