Private Sector Foundation OF Uganda Boss Gideon Badagawa Dies From COVID-19




Sad news coming in indicating that PSFU Executive Director Dr.Gideon. Badagawa succumbed to COVID 19 from Mulago Hospital where he has been battling for his life few days ago.

“The Board, Management and Staff of the Private Sector Foundation of Uganda (PSFU), with deep sorrow regret to announce the untimely death of their Executive Director, Mr. Gideon Badagawa, who passed away this morning Monday June 21st ,2021,in Mulago Hospital “,reads the statement.

It is also reported that his wife, Mrs. Susan Birungi Badagawa also has been battling for her life alongside her husband in hospital and only last week lost her father to #Covid 19.The family has kindly requested that we and the general public keep the two deaths confidential in order for their mother to pull through without any shocks until further notice.We pray for the family and the private sector during this hard time” which was by Elly Karuhanga, Chairman Board of Directors.

Mr. Badagawa at only 54 years was the Executive Director of Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) for the last 10 years.

He previously worked with Uganda Manufacturers Association as Executive Director for 2 years.

He was also a member of the Board of National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), Board of Uganda Energy Credit Capitalization Company Limited, Board of Uganda National Planning Authority (NPA), Board of Uganda Warehouse Receipts Authority (UWRA), and Board of the Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC).

Badagawa was born in a little village called Muyiira in Nambale Sub -County, Iganga District, to Mr and Ms Isabirye Badagawa.

He went to school at Busoga College Mwiri, Makerere College School and later joined Makerere University in 1988 for his first degree in Statistics.
