Primary Seven Candidate Gives Birth, Minutes to Her Mathematics Paper

Moment of wonders happened today in Ibanda district at Sigiriya primary school in Kikyenkya sub –county as primary seven candidate deliveries at examination entrance room.

Eye witness revealed to us that supervisors and invigilators in Ibanda District who were preparing for the first examination day left wondering after a Primary seven candidate gave birth minutes to  her Mathematics paper.

An invigilator who preferred his identity not to be availed told our reporter that the girl gave birth to a bouncing baby boy.

“After safely giving birth, we allowed her to continue and sit for her examination since she was in stable condition” he said.

The National Examination body UNEB recently said that it will add 45 extra minutes for each paper on assumption that of the 395,855 female candidates who registered for these exams, some might have fallen pregnant.

This According to UNEB is due to their long stay at home during the COVID-19 lockdown When the Government ordered for the closure of schools and all Educational centers.

The UNEB Executive Secretary Dan Nokratch Odongo continues to call upon the examination supervisors and invigilators to ensure adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures, set to minimize the spread of COVID-19 during this examination period.

UNEB Executive secretary  warns that candidates against engaging in any form of examination malpractice as this would lead to the exam results being canceled.

A total of 749,811 candidates are writing their exams which are slated to end tomorrow with Integrated Science and English Language.
