National Unity Platform (NUP) has officially joined upcoming Omoro County by-election race, fronting Former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) member Tolit Akecha Simon as their party flag-bearer.
On Monday, the NUP Election Management Committee vetted candidates who expressed interest in carrying the partys flag for the Omoro County by-election.
The candidates that were vetted include; Alison Ramto Flavia, Kizza Oscar, Ochola Charles, Simon Toolit Akecha, and Secondo Okoth Abok.
The ruling NRM party also already picked late Oulanyahs son, Andrew Ojok as their flagbearer as FDC is yet to front any candidate.
The Omoro County by-election is set for 26th, May, 2022 according to the Electoral Commission road map and the nomination of candidates will take place from May 12 to May 13 at Omoro District Council Hall whereas the campaigns will kick off on 16th to 24th May 2022.
The Omoro County seat fell vacant last month following the death of MP and former Speaker Jacob Oulanyah who died in Seakle United states.
