“NRM’s Long Live in Power is Due to Well-Planned Politics”- Says Richard Todwong

The ruling National Resistance Movement Party Secretary General Rt Hon Richard Todwong  said that NRM has managed to remain long in power because of their well-planned policies.

Hon Todwong made the remarks on Thursday March 10th while speaking as the Chief Guest at the belated 36th NRM Anniversary for Kanungu District which took place at Rusoroza Seed School in Kihihi Sub County, Kanungu District.

The NRM Secretary General was accompanied by the Party Eectoral Commission Chairman Dr Tanga Odoi, Party Deputy Treasurer Hon Jacqueline Kyatuheire,  The Director for Communication and Public Relations Hon Emmanuel Dombo Lumala and the Directr for Moblisation and Cader Identification Hon Rosemary Sseninde Nansubuga.

The Secretary General was received by the Minister for ICT and National Guidance Hon Dr Chris Baryomunsi who is also the Member of Parliament for Kinkizi East, Hon James Ruggi Kaberuka for Kinkizi West, Hon Patience Kinshaba Nkunda for District Women and Hon Joy Peggy Wako Member of Parliament for Elderly.

According to Todwong,  the core need of leadership is to provide the engine for development that include infrastructural development such as roads and bridges, construction of schools and health facilities, agricultural improvement and ensuring the masses access these facilities to improve their welfare.

He further said that the NRM has managed to remain long in power because of their well-planned policies which are pro people in all sectors without discrimination and for that matter the NRM is here to stay like it has happened in countries like Tanzania and South Africa where the ruling parties continue to lead their countries.

He reiterated that those crying for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni long stay in power as NRM leaders are mistaken because he has reached a prime age where he can provide good leadership for the country with wisdom and not excitement.

Hon Todwong therefore encouraged all leaders at all levels in the country to identify the needs for their people, plan on how to provide for them so that people can appreciate their oversight roles.

He laso hailed the leadership in Kanungu for working hard to ensure that the NRM remains strong in the area as reflected in sequence of elections where in 2016 had 56% support for NRM and President Museveni, while in 2021 they voted overwhelmingly for the ruling party with 86% and asked them to make it 100% in future elections to deny the opposition a chance.

The function was preceded by a parade mounted by the UPDF, Police and Prisons, women groups and school children among others.
