Kitara FC Appoints Richard Makumbi as New Head Coach

Kitara Football Club has today unveiled Richard Makumbi as the new head coach.

The new coach will be charge of team for this season Star Times Uganda premier League campaign.

KITARA FC UNVEILS COACH MAKUMBI

Richard Makumbi has been unveiled as Kitara FC Coach for the 2021/2022 season.

Makumbi has a coaching experience of 29 years in which he has promoted 14 teams to Uganda’s Premier League.

This is the second stint of Makumbi at Kitara FC where he coached the team in the second round of the 2018/2019 season.

While at Kitara FC, he only lost one game against Kansai Plascon.

He first joined the Club on 21st January 2019.

Makumbi was this evening unveiled by the Kitara FC Vice President in Charge of Technical Mr. Benald Tugume Isoke.

The unveiling ceremony was held at Kitara FC Camp in Hoima City.

Speaking shortly after unveiling the Coach, Isoke said, Kitara FC is pleased to sign an experienced coach.

“After careful planning, hardwork and ingenuity of talented managers, Makumbi fits our club aspirations” said Isoke who chaired the technical committee which led the recruitment process.

He said Makumbi has been tasked to strengthen the team’s youth structure and develop a competitive and beautiful football philosophy that will promote the team on the national and international scale as enshrined in Kitara FC five year development plan.

Isoke taske d Makumbi to focus on the core pillars of the Club which include local content development, competitive and beautiful football and talent development.

Makumbi ranked top among the ten coaches that expressed interest in Kitara FC Coaching role.

Makumbi replaces Tony Sekito who coached the team in the Uganda Premier league last season.
Due to poor performance, the team was relegated to the FUFA Big League.

Last season, Makumbi coached Nyamityobora FC. He previously coached Kiboga Young FC, Western Stima FC in Kenya and several other clubs as listed below this article.
