“It’s Our Chance to Recapture Kayunga”- Sseninde Says As Nantaba Snubs NRM

Following NRM’s Andrew Muwonge nomination as the party flag bearer in LC5 Kayunga bye-election, Rosemary Sseninde the NRM director for mobilization and cadre development said that it’s now their chance to recapture Kayunga District which had slipped from its hands in the recent general election.

According to her while speaking after party candidate nomination on Tuesday, the poor performance which NRM had in the 2021 general election was because of internal bickering.

“This is an opportunity for the people of Kayunga to vote for a person from the party in power to ensure service delivery. This is an opportunity for a fresh beginning,” Sseninde said.

However, the Former State minister for Information, Communication and Technology, Ms Ida Nantaba, has refused to heed calls by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party officials to stop supporting an Independent candidate in the Kayunga District LC5 by-election.

According to sources, it has been revealed that the former state minister has snubbed her NRM party and backed the independent candidate in Kayunga LC5 bye-elections.

It should be noted that the position fell vacant after the death of NUP’s Ffeffekka Sserubogo who had in 2021 general election claimed victory of LC5 Kayunga district.
