Ishaka Adventist Hospital Threatens to Terminate Staff with Questionable Marriages

Ishaka Adventist School of Nursing & Midwifery has left its staff paralyzed following the decision by the management   to terminate its staff with questionable marriages.

According to the announcement dated 9th February 2022 accessed by this publication, the management of Ishaka Adventist School of Nursing & Midwifery reached a decision to fire all its workers who are in what they termed to be questionable marriage and those who are not legally married to spouses.

From the announcement, the management gave illegally married couples up to 1st April 2022 to present their marriage certificates or else they quit.

The institution management further revealed that all those that will fail to present their legal marriage certificates in the given stipulated time will lose their jobs and therefore will be in a wrong place.

“This serves to inform all the workers who are in “questionable marriage”, those not legally married (not wedded) that with effect from 1st April 2022 you don’t have a job unless you present your legal marriage certificate”, part of the announcement read.

The management noted that they are guided and following the institutions’ policies and the SDA policy.

Ishaka Adventist School of Nursing and Midwifery is the only Adventist institution of higher learning found in western Uganda, Bushenyi district whereas Ishaka Adventist Hospital is a rural hospital located in the town of Ishaka, Bushenyi District.
