Wednesday last week saw presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine arrested in Luuka District for violating COVID-19 SOPs. This however sparked off violent riots.
Police, assisted by other security agencies reacted and fired live bullets at the rioters who had started blocking roads.
Tear gas canisters were also fired, incapacitating some side road vendors as they attempted to flee for their lives.
Recently, Police insisted that only 28 people died from the riots.
However, in a report seen by the Daily Monitor, fifty people died both from bullets and injuries sustained from the riots.
Amongst these are a retired educationist, market vendors while others remain un-identified.
