Turkey based Ugandan blogger, Fred Lumbuye’s woes are far from over his deportation to Uganda ended in failure..
The blogger was supposed to be deported back to Uganda last weekend according to an MP subscribing to National Unity Platform.
However, the weekend passed like any other without the slightest sign of the motor mouthed NUP blogger, which instilled fears in many of his friends and the blogging fraternity.
There have been reports that Fred Lumbuye, who has been accused by Ugandan Security Officers of circulating fake news (announcing Museveni dead) had been tortured to life threatening point.
It is this reason that the governments, both of Turkey and Uganda are not showing him off to the public. It is said that they want to wait untill he is in better shape to be presented to the public.
However, other deep thinkers in Turkey reveal that he could be dead since he was arrested in a manner unworthy of a human being.
Through the human rights organisations, Lumbuye’s friends and well wishers called for justice for Lumbuye so that they could see him eye to eye in good shape.
According to Bobi Wine, the leader of the National Unity Platform, we should all Ugandans be very careful since no one is safe, even those in the diaspora.
“We all must be very concerned about this development because as we know many Ugandans feel safe to critcize the regime in Uganda from a safe distance in countries abroad. The governments of the world ought to protect the rights of political dissidents and exiles who have sought refuge in their countries. Ugandans abroad ought to feel safe.” he wrote.
About a week ago, Fred Lumbuye was arrested by unknown men and taken to a location unknown to anyone. He has not been seen since.
