State Minister for Lands Dr. Sam Mayanja has begged his fellow Born Again Christians to engage in fasting and pray for the long life of President YK Museveni who he says was anointed and God chosen to rule over Uganda.

Likening him to the biblical king Solomon, Mayanja says that “the unprecedented wisdom with which” Gen Museveni has governed this country for the last 36 years is indicative he is a man whose leadership was divinely inspired.

Mayanja asserted that because he is God-sent, Gen Museveni deserves to lead this country until he dies.

He made this statement yesterday while speaking at Serena Hotel during the graduation ceremony of   North Western Christian University where students graduated with honorary PhDs, Masters and Bachelor’s degrees as well as diplomas in a multiplicity of disciplines on Friday.

Mayanja submitted that Born Again Christians have a duty to pray for his longevity since his reign has enabled the practice of their faith to blossom.

A leading donor to the same University, Mayanja said leaders of the Museveni pedigree are rare and difficult to find which is why once a country gets him, citizens must daily pray to God to keep him safe besides continuing to bestow divine wisdom upon him.

During the same event a book (titled aspiring to inspire before we expire) was launched by Mayanja who went ahead to buy a copy at Shs10m while imploring parents and grandaunts to deepen their reading culture.

University officials thanked Mayanja for his generosity towards the institution and also used the ceremony to unveil a generous scholarship package which will see students pay only 20% of the tuition fees they have previously been paying for all the different courses.
