East Africa Got Talent Finally Speaks Out, Trashes Claims of not Paying Esther & Ezekiel

Two years later, siblings and singing duo, Esther and Ezekiel Mutesasira claim that they have not been paid the prize money they won during the East Africa Got Talent (EAGT) show in 2019.

Esther and Ezekiel won the top prize worth $50,000 for showcasing their exceptional music talent in the 2019 edition of the EAGT show that happened in Nairobi, Kenya.

The duo has in the past Months been ranting about not having received a penny from East Africa Has Got Talent untill today.
They recently appeared in a Facebook live video venting over the same issue, they said that as winners, they have not been contacted by neither managers nor organizers of EAGT.
It’s two years now but we haven’t got our money from the previous ‘East African Got Talent’ competition,” they said.
However, the coordinator of the EAGT talent ‘Katson Horace’ has finally come out and addressed the matter.

Katson says that they already paid US$37,000 of the US$50,000 they won in Kenya’s capital Nairobi.

Their aunt Gladys was the one helping with everything. Their mother and father were not involved at the stage. We cannot just send US$50000 to minors.

You know where there is money everybody gets involved. What happens is the winners are paid half (US$25000) of the money immediately.

But for them we did not know whether to pay the mother or the father. But the father came into the picture and we paid him

They are confusing for us and its hard to come into the media and say they won, but family conflict. They are our ambassadors. When they claimed we never paid a penny, we still kept quiet. Now we are forced to say because there is a lot going on about us out there.

We did not know whether to send the balance to Canada or to the father again. We also need accountability for the amount paid so we can deposit the balance,”  He said
