The federation of Uganda Football Association ( FUFA) has been forced to halt all the Regional Leagues for the Season 2021 – 2021 due the prevailing second Wave of deadly virus Covid -19.
FUFA over yesterday made official announcement of the suspension of regional Leagues for the season 2020/2021 via it’s official twitter handles.
2020/21 SEASON-REGIONAL LEAGUES
Due to supervisory and logistical hiccups caused by the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic, FUFA has decided to cancel the FUFA Regional Leagues for 2020/2021 season”,FUFA tweeted.
“Efforts will be diverted to an early and timely kickoff of the 2021/2022 Regional League season.
We urge everyone to continue and intensity efforts in the fight to stop the spread of
COVID -19 in the Country. Together we can control the spread of the virus. “,FUFA added.
FUFA runs the third division ,Fourth and fifth tier leagues under its eight regions ,Buganda ,Eastern ,Western ,Kitara and the West Nile.
It should be remembered even last season the League was cancelled in march 2020 still due to raise of Covid -19 in country and football had to be put on pause to fight the virus.
