The date 12th February holds a special place in Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu aka Bobi Wine’s heart as it is the day he was born.
Bobi Wine has always been a popular figure among Ugandans. Over the past few years, though, he has become a thorn in the side of Uganda’s government.
He is one of President Yoweri Museveni’s biggest critics who became famous as a reggae and pop musician. His albums and singles have made him a household name across East Africa for over 15 years. Among other honors, he has won an MTV Music Award.
But, since 2017, Bobi Wine has been a prominent member of the opposition in Uganda’s Parliament. In November, he was named the presidential candidate of the National Unity Platform (NUP) opposition party.
He became Uganda’s strong hold when he promised to make Uganda a better place for the citizens, he inspired many including his fellow celebrities and thats why he is gladly celebrated as he turns 39 years today!1
Proving that his icon status is hallowed by all, fellow celebrities took to social media to bow down to Bobi Wine on his special day.
Proving they all worship at his altar, the likes of Apass, Spice Diana, Douglas Lwanga and Rema Namakula pledged their allegiance on social media.
