CECAFA U-23 Senior Challenge Cup 2021 Postponed



The CECAFA secretariat has confirmed that the 2021 CECAFA U-23 senior challenge ,scheduled to start next month July ,will not take place.

This year tournament is for players below 23 years of age but  tournament rules allow three players above that category to feature.

CECAFA through it’s official website that this years competition have been rescheduled from July 3rd to July 17th ,2021 in Bahir Dar,Ethiopia.

However ,the  secretariat never disclosed the reason for pushing the dates as the officials are yet to make an official statement about the matter.

The teams that had confirmed to take part in tournament  included ; Uganda the defending champions 2019 ,Kenya,Tanzania ,Djibouti,Eritrea second run up after losing it up to Uganda,Zanzibar,Southern Sudan,Sudan ,Ethiopia .

It should be remembered that 2020 tournament was missed due to COVID -19.
