Over Yesterday NUP president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine’s Family security guard Sharif was reportedly arrested and beaten up by security operatives.

He was expected to visit Kayunga district to headline the NUP candidate Harriet Nakwedde ‘s campaign meeting in the Kayunga chairperson by – election but he was halted by security to proceed with his program after army and police setting up roas blocks on all roads leading to his home.

Through his socials,he reported that his security guard sharif was violently arrested ,beaten up and bundle into a ‘,drone’ van which took him to an unknown destination as his post reads below;

“This is Sharif Higenyi, our family’s security guard. Sharif, who hails from Bududa in the far East has been our domestic security personnel for the past four years.

Like many people who I live with, work with or associate with, Sharif has been constantly arrested, harassed, and tortured. Almost each time they surround my home, he has been one of the first victims of humiliation and torture. He first came to work for us under a private security company. At the time whenever they surrounded my home, they would disarm him and take him to the police station for as many days as they placed me under house arrest. In January when they raided our home ahead of the election, they arrested him, beat him up very badly and instructed his security company to transfer him. His crime was doing his job! This prompted him to resign because he preferred to stay at our place.

And so ‘Uncle Sharif’ as our kids call him was today morning yet again violently arrested, beaten up and bundled into a ‘drone’ van which took him to an unknown destination. For no reason whatsoever, the thugs jumped over the fence and took him away, after beating him mercilessly.

We have checked at Kasangati police station but he is not there. I cannot imagine what they are doing to him now, but I pray he returns alive. These are the kinds of injustices that keep us struggling.
