Presidential hopeful and National Unity Platform president, Kyagulanyi Sentamu commonly known as Bobi Wine remains defiant and promised to aid families of last week’s riots.
Addressing mourners during a special service in memory of those that died during the Free Bobi Wine riots at the NUP head offices, Bobi Wine lashed at security officers, accusing them of being merciless but quickly added that his camp is not shaken.
“It is so ashaming that people were murdered by these merciless security officers under orders of panicky president Museveni that left many dead because of talking what hurts them but ofcourse the dictator must know we are not moved by any situation because we know what we are fghting for.” he said
He added “I wonder what Museveni thinks when he remembers the 500, 000 and + whom he killed, citing the restoration of peace in the country and I want him to answer to Ugandans that if he killed that huge number while coming into leadership, how many does he want to kill in his mission bto sikvec us such that he can keep vandalzing out country?”
Joel Ssenonyi, the NUP spokesperson assured the riot victims that with the aid of the party’s legal team, NUP will see to it that their families get justice.
“We are not going to let them down. They’re our fellow Ugandans. We are going to make follow up to each person and help them to over come the terrible situations they are facing and make sure they get justice being helped by our legal team.” he assured.
After being arrested last week, Bobi Wine supporters stormed the streets, demanding his release. These riots saw over 30 people dead from bullets and injuries inflicted on them by the Police.
