The Uganda police force confirmed the arrest of Aruu South county member of parliament and former FDC member Samuel Odonga Otto in Awere trading center campaigning after electoral commission set time.
According to Electoral Commission candidates’ guidelines, campaigns stop at 6:00 pm, and anybody who engages in campaigns beyond that time does so in breach of the law.
“We would like to inform the public that Honourable Odonga Otto has been arrested from Awere trading center, Pader District Aswa Region while campaigning beyond the stipulated time of 6:00 pm as guided by the Electoral Commission. He is being held at Pader Central Police Station.“-Uganda Police Force posted.
