The Electoral Commission headed by Justice Byabakama has announced that campaigns for Presidential and Parliamentary aspirants can now start off in full gear.
The campaigns will run for 60 days until January 14th, 2021 when Ugandans will take the battle to the ballot.
The Electoral Commission mic, Paul Bukenya advised the candidates not to be in the same place at the same time to avoid clashes. He also urged them to observe the Ministry if Health SOPs to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
According to the campaign programs agreed upon by the EC and the candidates, Museveni has kicked off his campaign in Luweero before heading to lira and Apac.
Bobi wine has also started with Arua, Nebbi before going to Kitgum.
Gen Tumukunde will kick off his campaign on Tuesday in Rukungiri.
Fred Mwesigye starts off in Kampala while Nancy Kalembe will be in Jinja and Joseph Kabuleta will be in Gulu.
DP’s Nobert Mao and ANT’s Mugisha Muntu however have not yet submitted their campaign program to the EC for approval.
